These events provided an opportunity to strengthen ties with key Japanese and international stakeholders and to explore new opportunities for collaboration in the pharmaceutical and healthtech sectors.
The mission also highlighted the excellence of the cluster’s members, with NETRI being invited by JETRO to present its ‘organs-on-a-chip’ technologies combined with artificial intelligence, opening up promising prospects for preclinical research.
During an international round-table discussion, Erick Lelouche, President of Lyonbiopole, exchanged views with several partner clusters – such as Biocommunity Kansai, Biocat, Health Campus Limburg DC and Montréal InVivo – on the challenges of international cooperation in the life sciences. This discussion provided an opportunity to share experiences and identify ways to strengthen cooperation for the benefit of businesses and academic stakeholders.
He also announced that Lyon will host the BIO-Europe Spring conference in April 2027, boosting the region’s international profile.
Finally, the mission concluded with the signing of a partnership agreement between Lyonbiopole, Osaka Bio Headquarters and the Osaka Prefectural Government, which was formalised at WHX Osaka. This agreement builds on the collaboration initiated in 2016 as part of the bioXclusters alliance. It was also signed by several leading international partners, including Biocat, Health Campus Limburg DC and Montréal InVivo, demonstrating a shared commitment to strengthening global cooperation.
