Raymond Le Moign - General Director of the Hospices Civils de Lyon

Since June 2020, Raymond Le Moign has been general director of the Hospices Civils de Lyon, France’s second largest university hospital centre.

He was previously chief of staff to the ministers of solidarity and health Agnès Buzyn and Olivier Véran, between January 2018 and May 2020. He already had ministerial experience between December 2013 and January 2016 as deputy director of the cabinet of the Minister of Social Affairs, Health and Women’s Rights.

During his career, he was notably deputy director of the regional hospital centre of Orléans (1994/96), of the university hospital centre of Nantes (1996/2004) and then deputy director general of the Nantes Atlantique cancer centre (2004/2007). He directed the Toulouse University Hospital in 2016 and 2017.

His rich and varied expertise of the health system and the hospital world is also linked to his functions at the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Solidarity as deputy director of human resources at the DGOS (general directorate for health care provision) between 2011 and 2013 and at the Haute Autorité de Santé as director of quality improvement and health care safety (2007/2011).

Raymond Le Moign holds a scientific baccalaureate and is a graduate of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques d’Aix-en-Provence and the Ecole Nationale de la Santé Publique (1994).
