In France, Boehringer Ingelheim is present through research and development activities, production and provision of therapeutic solutions for human and animal health. With 2,300 employees spread across 9 sites, the laboratory has a strong footprint throughout the country, particularly in the Lyon area, the group's center of gravity in France. Our French head office is located in Lyon Gerland and we have 2 research sites in Greater Lyon (Lyon Porte des Alpes and Saint-Vulbas) as well as 3 production sites (Lentilly, Saint-Priest and Jonage).

Thanks to its expertise, Boehringer Ingelheim contributes to consolidating the role of the Lyon region as a leading ecosystem in the field of life sciences. As an example, in 2022 we committed 30 million euros to found the Aurobac joint venture (together with BioMérieux and Evotec), intended to find innovative ways to fight antimicrobial resistance.
