CDD RESEARCH TECHNICIAN

AUROBAC THERAPEUTICS is a biopharmaceutical company created in 2022 by 3 renowned life sciences innovation companies, Boehringer Ingelheim, Evotec and bioMérieux, to become a global leader in the fight against bacterial infections, Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and their consequences in acute hospital settings.

With strong growth ahead, within an international environment, the company is now looking for a Research Technician for a 6-month period.

Description:

As a Research Technician at AUROBAC, you will actively participate in advancing research and development objectives in the domain of microbiology in compliance with hygiene and security rules. You will contribute to the laboratory management in connection with the other team members to ensure the smooth running of the activities.

The Research Technician will report to the Laboratory Manager and work closely with other lab members and scientific team in charge of antibacterial drug R&D programs.

Missions:

• Carry out experiments by following existing protocols of in vitro microbiology assays

• Participate in elaboration and implementation of new experiments

✓ Troubleshoot technical issues

✓ Perform protocol drafting

• Work as a team and coordinate with collaborators on experiments and use of equipment

• Make accurate records of experiments in laboratory notebooks

• Plan the assays and prepare reagents and consumables needed for experiments

• Analyze basic data, summarize results

• Report on the progress of experiments, experimental results, and take an active part in project progress meetings

• Ensure the reliability, quality and traceability of experimental results

• Participate in the laboratory management:

✓ Monitor common stock and laboratory supply and request supplies when necessary

✓ Participates to lab logistics

• Comply with laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe working environment

Personal skills:

• Ability to identify and solve technical issues

• Thoroughness, organizational skills, team spirit

• Adaptability and autonomous

• Computer skills: Office suite, software for analysis and layout

• Ability to communicate (team meeting, group meeting)

• Ability to read/speak scientific English

Professional experience:

• > 2 years with technical experience in a microbiology laboratory setting ideally in a research-driven biopharmaceutical organization, either from a biotech and/or pharma company.

• +2/3 years university degree or equivalent in microbiology, biotechnology or a related field.
