Hamburg, London, Lyon ... stops of interest for Lyonbiopole and its members in April 2018! Furthemore, the 7 French health competitiveness clusters have formed a network to speak with one voice.


The month of May will bring renewal for the cluster with the election of new representatives of colleges both Centers of Competence and SMEs at its General Assembly to be held on May 31 in Lyon. Lyonbiopole's team will be happy to meet you there.

Cluster's life

 MedTech Expert Appointment a successful 2nd editionLyonbiopole co-organized together with MD101 Consulting and Axeme Recrutement Santé the “Rdv Experts Medtech”. This event took place in March in Lyon and gathered 60 participants. Pr. BERGER (neuro-oncologist, Grenoble University Hospital, co-founder of Medimprint) presented how a clinician could develop an innovative medical project from the idea to the incorporation of the start-up. Then, experts composing the panel: Mr. PIN (Lyon University Hospital), Mr. CHIGNON (Mérieux Développement), Mr. BARATIER (Resmed) and Mr. MASSARDIER (DTF Medical) were discussing about market access in the context of new EU regulation; how to promote innovation within hospitals; private funds for companies. This event was also a unique opportunity for SME’s to access free consultancy meeting with experts from MD101 Consulting.

 MAGIA CLUSTER VISITAs partner of the European project MAGIA dedicated to the creation of a Medtech Clusters Alliance, Lyonbiopole has participated in April in the second « cluster visit » of the project. This meeting organised at the German cluster « Life Science Nord » based in Hamburg, allow the partners to exchange on their internationalisation strategies and to meet SMEs members of the cluster in order to discuss their priorities and needs related to internationalisation. These discussions started in February at the first « cluster visit » in Lyon. They will continue in June in Torino at Biopmed’s and in September in Wallonia at Biowin’s premises.
 Workshop on the Preclinical Development of ImmunotherapiesFor the 3rd consecutive year, Lyonbiopole and MabDesign have co-organized a day around immunotherapies to support innovation in this field. After “engineering of therapeutic antibodies” in 2016, the “routes of administration” in 2017, this 3rd edition was focused on the "preclinical development of immunotherapy". On April 24th 2018, this is thus more than 70 participants discussed on the needs at this stage of development encountered by companies developing immunotherapies and on specificities and predictivity of preclinical in vitro and in vivo models developed by French SMEs.
 LYONBIOPOLE SUPPORTS ITS MEMBERS AT BIOTRINITYAs part of its International Development Plan funded by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, Lyonbiopole supported 4 of its members: Veinsound, Osivax, Vetbiobank and Fab'entech on BioTrinity in London from April 23 to 25, 2018. They had the opportunity to present their projects to potential investors during pitch sessions or one-to-one meetings.
