A great and busy start after the summer holidays for Lyonbiopole with a rich agenda!  A workshop on innovative methods to analyze skin parameters gathering a large number of public and private sector experts in the AURA Skin Biology Network, a travel to Scandinavia as part of inter-region “4 motors for Europe” mission and finally an info day dedicated to the upcoming H2020 calls related to health.

 

Innovation will be the focus during the month of October ... Let's meet on October 10th at the Hotel de Région for our annual big event: the Partnering Days that brings together all the regional health stakeholders working for the innovation of the future.

Cluster's life

 Lyonbiopole and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region on a fact-finding mission to ScandinaviaFrom September 11 to 14, Lyonbiopole participated on an inter-region “4 motors for Europe” mission in Scandinavia, organised by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region and its 1st Vice-President, Mr. Etienne Blanc. So, the 4 regions of the 4 Motors Alliance, that are Catalonia, Bade Württemberg, Lombardy and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes formed a delegation of 9 clusters and 3 companies of the life sciences sector, to discover major players within the Greater Copenhagen and the Skane region (South Sweden). During the 3 day mission, the cluster visited large research facilities such as Max VI and meet big pharmas (Novo Nordisk and Astra Zeneca), university and clinical teams specialised in personalised medicine and e-health.[...]
 The regional forces gathered during the workshop focusing on innovative methods to analyze skin parametersThe European Center for Dermocosmetology and Lyonbiopole have launched a joint initiative called AURA Skin Biology Network in order to gather all the experts in the field of Cutaneous Biology in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. In this context, a thematic workshop was organized on September 12th in Lyon, focusing on innovative methods to analyze skin parameters. With a hundred attendees, academic researchers, clinicians and Health and Cosmetology companies, this event has been a great success and has generated new collaborations between experts on innovative skin models, biophysic and imaging and "omic" approaches.
 Successful Industrial GMP Manufacturing of RIBOXXIM, a Novel and Highly Potent Toll-like 3 Ligand for Immunotherapy of CancerRIBOXX PHARMACEUTICALS, a biotech company developing Toll-like-receptor (TLR) and RIG-I-like-Receptor (RLR) ligands, and ACCINOV, a pharmaceutical establishment for experimental drug products, announced the successful industrial GMP manufacturing, including packaging and quality control of RIBOXXIM®, a novel and highly potent Toll-like Receptor 3 (TLR3)-ligand.  Info Day, Horizon 2020 - 'Health, demographic change and wellbeing', LyonOrganised by the Health National Contact Point in collaboration with Lyonbiopole, Lyon’s hospital (HCL) and Claude Bernard University of Lyon, on September 19th, the info day brought together nearly 80 entrepreneurs, researchers and clinicians. Through to the presentations done by the Health and SME National Contact Points (NCPs), the participants had the opportunity to preview the next H2020 calls for the period 2018-2020. Calls will be officially published on October 27th. In order to illustrate the presentations, Prof. Douek (HCL) and Mr. Chereul (VOXCAN) presented their collaboration in a current H2020 project, demonstrating the relevance of the regional ecosystem within EU projects. In the afternoon, more than 20 bilateral meetings took place in parallel between the participants and the representatives of the Health and SME NCPs. This was an opportunity for many of our members to identify funding possibilities for their project at the European level.
