March brought the opportunities to strengthen our links with one of the world's leading health markets: North America. At Bio Europe Spring 2017, in Barcelona, a workshop was jointly organized by the European alliance bioXclusters and its Canadian partners To Health!. In this framework, 10 projects and companies of 4 clusters partners were able to participate in a meeting with the American pharmaceutical leader ABBVIE

Cluster's life

 Workshop Celltainer Biotech BV and Xell - AccinovAccinov welcomed Celltainer and Xell for a Workshop “Innovative technologies for fermentation & cell culture”. This meeting was an opportunity for parcipants to attend the demonstration of The CELL-tainer single-use bioreactor, a versatile device with configurations optimised for Cell culture, Microbial fermentation. Tim Beckmann, Director Strategic Development & USP at XELL, gave a some basic introduction into cell culture media, then he discussed with the public about some special applications of cell culture media and respective challenges regarding the ingredients.
 Health workshop with To Health!At the occasion of Bio Europe Spring, the bioXclusters + alliance organized a workshop in collaboration with its Canadian partner ToHealth !. 40 attendees had the opportunity to participate in an exchange of best practices for the development and internationalization of personalized medicine between Canada and Europe.
 Open Innovation meeting between bioXcluster & ABBVIELyonbiopole and its partenaires of bioXclusters alliance organize an open innovation meeting with ABBVIE during Bio Europe Spring in Barcelona. Thanks to this meeting more than 10 projects and companies from the 4 clusters were presented to ABBVIE US Team. Also Thanks to this meeting ABBVIE had the chance to understand better European Clusters works and ecosystems and establish with them a long-term relationship.
 Two new projects selected by SFIAfter Lyonbiopole’s accreditation, two collaborative projects were selected as part of the 23rd SFII call. The Oncochip 3D project, co-accredited by Minalogic competitiveness cluster, addresses the development of bio-printed and microstructured chips for R&D in oncology. The NGS-IVS project aims to develop a new diagnostic tool for erythrocytic genotyping. These two projects will benefit from public funding from the French State, local authorities and FEDER European funds. [...]
 LYONBIOPOLE CREATES THE ASSOCIATE MEMBER STATUSLyonbiopole creates the "Associate Member" status and welcomes 5 new major players in its ecosystem. KPMG, Sham, BNP Paribas, Radiance Groupe Humanis and Harmonie Mutuelle are joining forces with the territorial dynamics of the biotech/medtech ecosystem of Lyonbiopole. By creating this new status, Lyonbiopole wishes to integrate companies and institutions for whom health innovation is an issue but which have no health R&D activities in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. These new members, through their interactions with the innovation ecosystem of the cluster, will be associated to its life and will widen experts' pool on multiple themes.
