05/11/2015 - Manuel Valls Visits Lyonbiopole's Infectious Diseases Center

In the context of a visit at the Infectious Diseases Center, Lyonbiopole welcomed on May 11th, Manuel Valls, the French Prime Minister along with Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, the Minister of Education, and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the participation of Gérard Collomb, Senator-Mayor of Lyon and la Métropole de Lyon President, Jean-Jack Queyranne, Rhône-Alpes Regional Council President, with Louis Schweitzer, General Commissioner for Investment joined by Philippe Archinard, Lyonbiopole's President. 

07/10/2015 - Save the date, Partnering Days 2015

The 9th edition of the Partnering Days will took place in October 7th, 2015, at the Hôtel de Region (Lyon-Confluence). The objectif of the event, organised by Lyonbiopole, is to create R&D partnerships in the health sector between public and private actors in Rhône-Alpes.

ENYO Pharma 

ENYO Pharma is a young SME, member of Lyonbiopole which was created by 4 scientists from the International Center for Infectiology Research (Inserm U1111) in Lyon. Based in the Infectious Diseases Center of Lyonbiopole, the SME is focused on treatments for acute and chronic viral infections. ENYO Pharma recently signed a license agreement on the FXR agonist programme with POXEL, also member of Lyonbiopole. ENYO will gain access to agonist compounds (farnesoid X receptor) of POXEL, for therapeutic indications in infectious diseases with preservation of POXEL rights regarding indications including cardiovascular disease and metabolism.

06/15-18/2015 - An important delegation of Rhône-Alpes SMEs at BIO

Thanks to the renewed support by the Rhône-Alpes region and the local community - Only Lyon Metropole, Grenoble Alpes Metropole and the CCI of Lyon, Lyonbiopole escorts a delegation of 20 members at this event. Furthermore, this year, Lyonbiopole offers its BIO + support services: 4 days on the Eastern US cost to discover the rich variety of this ecosystem, to learn about the US market and to meet investors.

06/30-07/04 - SysBioMed 2015

The 10th CFGBC Symposium with ISBE and CASyM workshops will be a one day event attended by leading scientists from systems biology/medicine that are giving a joint effort inside ISBE and CASyM. The symposium and workshops are free of admission, the 3 day event will consist of 5 tutorials on tutorial Systems Biology/Medicine. The tutorial is dedicated primarily to doctoral and post-doctoral students, medical doctors and other medical professionals. The number of participants is limited and up to two best candidates will be awarded with free registration (2 if more than 20 and 1 if more than 10 applications will be received respectively.)

03/2015 - H2020 SME instrument

H2020 program includes the SME instrument. It targets the highly innovative SMEs with a strong ambition to develop, grow and internationalize;  focusing on the delivery of new products, services or processes on the market. For SMEs in the health sector, the SME instrument is focused on the PHC-12 Clinical research for the validation of biomarkers and diagnostic medical devices line. The project can be presented by a single SME, and different phases depending on the maturity of the project. Next submission deadline: Phase 1 & 2 projects = 06/17/2015. 03/2015 - H2020 Fast track to innovation 

The European Commission launches a new initiative Fast Track to Innovation (FTI) under H2020. It aims to give to innovative companies a final push before the access to market. The projects must focus on industrial development. Consortia should bring 3-5 organizations (mostly companies). All fields of technology are concerned. Several submission dates are planned in 2015 (09/01/2015 and 12/1/2015).

03/2015 - Eurostars: call for projects open

Eurostars call for projects is open. This funding programme is fully dedicated to innovative SMEs aiming to launch R&D projects closed to the market, that are collaborative and European (at least 2 partners from EU). The funding rate for projects goes from 30 to 40% (subsidy managed by BPI France). The submission deadline is fixed on 09/17/2015. Lyonbiopole supports you to build up European projects.

05/28/2015 - 2nd “Health2CARE” call for expressions of interest

As part of their European project Health2CARE, the Rhône-Alpes Region, the I-CARE Cluster, Minalogic, Plastipolis and Lyonbiopole launch a new call for projects - get the details here. It aims to foster the emergence of innovative solutions carried by mainly by SMEs in the field of personalized medicine. After selection of applicants by a jury of European experts, the most promising projects will receive financial support between 5,000 and € 15,000 and will benefit from external expertise (business development, search for private financing, access to European markets. ..). 05/14/2015 - Back on Sino-European Bio Partnering Forum 2015 co-organized by Lyonbiopole

SEBP took place in May 14th 2015 in Shanghai. This 3rd edition was characterized by the partnership with the local government of Pudong and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Medicines & Health Products(CCCMHPIE) who both contribute to the Sino-European event. More than 200 participants from 135 SMEs were present. Besides of conferences and  the 25 project presentations, more than 35 hours of scheduled appointments took place as an important number of spontaneous appointements. Three Lyonbiopole SMEs' members took part in:  Biofilm ControlEyeTechCare and Indicia Production. Lyonbiopole is co-founder of the event with BioWin and G-Med Consulting and co-organizer with its european partners from Shanghai Bioclouds.

05/19/2015 - Noah D. Beerman joins POXEL

POXEL announced that Noah D. Beerman has joined the company as Executive Vice President, Business Development and President, US Operations to spearhead Poxel’s expanding presence into the USA. Mr. Beerman will be based in the Boston area, and is responsible for leading Poxel’s global business development efforts, and for continuing to build the Company’s relationships with the US financial community.

05/11-19/2015 - A successful Biotech-Medtech mission in China! 

Mission to China took place from May 11th to 19th 2015 in Shanghai. Three Lyonbiopole members SMEs took part in:  Biofilm Control, EyeTechCare and Indicia Production. It dealed with a first business visit for those SMEs. The mission proposed two days of appointments tailor-made, an involvment to the Sino-Euro BioPartnering Forum and a visit to the biggest conference and exhibition for medical devices and diagnostics in China: The China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF). The planning has been set up thanks to joint actions from BusinessFrance and Lyonbiopole. Individualised meetings targeted key opinion leaders, investors, industrials and consultants. SMEs were very satisfied and collaborations may start at the end of the year for Indicia and EyeTechCare!

05/05/2015 - ERYTECH announces positive annual review of its Expanded Access Program 

ERYTECH Pharma announced that an independent Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) completed its first safety assessment of the company’s Expanded Access Program (EAP) in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and recommended continuation of the program without modification.

05/05/2015 - A world first in male fertility for Kallistem

Kallistem announced a world premiere: human spermatogenesis in vitro. At the end of 2014 the company was able to produce fully formed human spermatozoa in the laboratory setting, using patient testicular biopsies containing only immature germ cells, or spermatogonia.
