10/11/2013 - Register now to the 7th edition of Lyonbiopole Partnering Days

The 7th edition of Lyonbiopole Partnering Days will be held on Friday October 11th, 2013 in Lyon. This event aims to foster exchanges between all the cluster's players: big industries, SMBs, academics and hospitals. Nearly 300 participants are expected to attend to this new edition. 20 parallel roundtables will be proposed on strategic and scientific topics. The event will also host the second edition of the BlueSky Meeting in the afternoon with short plenary talks of innovative technology offers and ideas of projects  open to collaboration.

Incorporated in Apr-10, the company offers the unique ability to predict outcomes on real patients through a range of high-value predictive services from discovery to post-market. Our patient outcomes-driven R&D is made possible by combining mathematical models of diseases with virtual populations of patients. The company is currently engaged in two FP7 programs financed by the European Commission: SysCLAD - which aims at improving survival for lung transplant recipients through personalized medicine applications derived from our predictive models, and CASyM - whose ambition is to build a roadmap for the implementation of systems medicine in Europe.

07/09/2013 - Success of the "Implants and associated infections" Day

Tuesday 09 July 2013, in partnership with the I-Care Cluster, Lyonbiopole organized a workshop on "Implants and associated infections". The aim of this event was to gather public and private actors involved in the domain and to encourage them to develop new trans-sectorial collaborations and innovative projects.
The day was a great success with 54 participants from SMBs, academic laboratories and the University Hospitals of Rhône-Alpes region. Plenary sessions presented the state of art on the mechanisms of implant’s infection and the tools and medical practices for prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Participants also shared their expertise during roundtable on innovative biomaterials, diagnostic and new therapeutics ways.

09/9-13/2013 - Collective trade mission to Brazil: Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro

Lyonbiopole invites its members to participate to this collective trade mission which will take place on September 9th to 13th, 2013 in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro regions. This mission is the result of a partnership between all French health competitiveness clusters. It is organized by UbiFrance and supported by DGCIS. The program includes visits to research institutes, biotech companies of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro regions and the participation in BioPartnering Latin America to be held in Rio. 07/09/2013 – 9th IMI Call for projects launched

The IMI Program has launched its 9th call for projects. The 4 topics of the call are: WEBAE – Leveraging Emerging Technologies for Pharmacovigilance; Developing Innovative Therapeutic Interventions Against Physical Frailty and Sarcopenia (ITI-PF&S) as a Prototype Geriatric Indication; in the framework of « NewDrugs4BadBugs » (ND4BB) program: Driving re-investment in R&D and Responsible Use of Antibiotics ; Clinical development of antibacterial agents for Gram-negative antibiotic resistant pathogens. 07/07/2013 - Open FP7-PEOPLE Program (researchers mobility program call for project)

IEF (Intra-European Fellowships), IOF (International Outgoing Fellowships) and IIF (International Incoming Fellowships) calls for projects were published on March 14th, 2013. Their respectively budget being of € 134M, € 44,5M and € 44,5M, these calls will be closed on August 14th, 2013 at 5:00 pm. The PEOPLE program finances transnational mobility of researchers in academic laboratories and within companies. 07/10-11/2013 – Lyonbiopole meets its bioXclusters partners

On 10 and 11 July, Lyonbiopole joins its partners in the European project bioXclusters for their steering committee in Munich. The first half of the year was full of activities such as hosting Chinese and American experts in Europe and organization of market workshops dedicated to SMB, the realization of a collective mission to Shanghai and the SEBP event, building a mission to the US in October 2013. Thus, the steering committee will be a time of report and projection for the 2nd half of the year and the end of the project. bioXclusters news on our blog.

07/09/2013 - Presentation of Prospective Studies Pact results in the Rhone-Alpes region

This CEP includes the setting up of an experimental approach aimed at foreseeing and supporting employment evolution in the Rhone-Alpes region in 2013 and 2014, in order to anticipate industrial mutation and possible professional conversions. In the morning, the study’s results and the recommendations to prepare the sector’s future, for of the Rhone-Alpes region, where presented. A round table gave great industrials and institutional experts, the opportunity, to share their opinion on the health industry field’s evolution in the Rhone-Alpes region.

06/13/2013 - Fit-For-Health event, Health SMBs in Horizon 2020

On June 13th, Lyonbiopole participated in the conference organized by the programme Fit-for-Health dedicated to supporting health SMBs in European projects. The aim was to present the future research and innovation program Horizon 2020 and the role of Health SMBs, in particular thanks to the launch a new SMB instrument inspired by the US model "Small Business Innovation Research - SBIR". 07/01/2013 - Bellerophon Project awarded EUR 5.5 M by EU to develop Staphylococcus aureus vaccine

Imaxio, a biopharmaceutical company specialized in vaccines, together with its partners from the Jenner Institute at Oxford University, the European Vaccine Initiative and Preclin Biosystems, is pleased to announce today a European Union award of EUR 5.5 million to support the ‘Bellerophon Project’ consortium to develop a vaccine against Staphylococcus aureus.

06/18/2013 - EndoControl announces FDA clearance of ViKY® UP

EndoControl announces FDA clearance of ViKY® UP , the first voice controlled active surgical assistance system for positioning uterine manipulator in gynecological surgery. Prior to this FDA clearance, the only way to perform a hysterectomy was to have an assistant between the legs of the patient in order to maintain the uterus in position using a device called uterine manipulator and to control its movements by hands.

This award aims to promote all aspects of entrepreneurship, and to highlight the actors involved in the development of their territory and in wealth creation, whether economic, social or cultural. EyeTechCare, this year’s award-winning company, is working on a new therapeutic method for treating glaucoma. Calypso Biotech and iDD biotech announced a licensing agreement. Calypso Biotech acquires rights to a monoclonal antibody derived from the clonathèque iDD biotech for the treatment of refractory celiac disease, causing a permanent intolerance to gluten.
