December 7th, 2012 - Success for the 4th edition of the Lyonbiopole's Private Inv€stment Day


Business angels, venture capitalists and private investors were to meet you! Organized with the support of Sanofi Pasteur in collaboration with Crealys, Grain, Novacité and OSEO, the event dedicated to SMEs and private investors gathered around 125 people. It aims to facilitate networking between entrepreneurs of biotech companies and private investors of all kinds of financial organizations.

From 24th to 26th March 2013 - Lyonbiopole invites you at BIOVISION, the World Life Sciences Forum, in Lyon

The8th edition of BIOVISION will be held from 24th to 26th March 2013 in Lyon, gathering representatives of civil society, scientists, industry and policy makers to discuss key global issues of health, food and environment. The Forum will provide a new organization around three moments: the scientific conferences, BIOVISION Catalyzer to promote collaborative projects and BIOVISION Investor Conference to favour meetings between Biotech, Pharma and private and public investors.

From 21st to 23rd January 2013 - bioXclusters: hosting an expert of the Life Sciences market in China and workshop on the Chinese market

Within the framework of its European project bioXclusters and "Mobility Clusters program: host of international experts in the Rhone-Alpes" funded by the Rhone-Alpes region and managed by ERAI, Lyonbiopole welcomes on January 21, 22 and 23, 2013, an expert of the life sciences sector in China: Mr. Gao Rong-Hui from G-Med Consulting and working in Shanghai Zhangjiang Pharma Valley. On this occasion the cluster invites you to participate in a workshop on the Chinese market on Tuesday 23 January including a presentation by Mr. Gao followed by regulatory issues. This workshop will be conducted in the presence of Simon Gudin, Lyonbiopole’s representative in Shanghai who will expose you the cluster’s offer in China. You will be able to continue the discussions during a networking lunch and individual appointments in the afternoon.

BioFilm Control

BioFilm Control SAS, based in "le Puy de dôme", which develops innovative in vitro diagnostics test, has just raised 3 million euros in funds through SOFIMAC partners, ENTREPRENEUR Ventures, Medical Innovative Plastic Investments and INSTITUT MERIEUX. BioFilm Control will fund the development, the validation and the marketing of its technology applied to the study of bacterial biofilms in the form of the BioFilm Ring Test®.

11/20/2012 - Lyonbiopole, CQDM and Alsace BioValley organize the first joint networking event in Lyon

The aim is to encourage the emergence of French-Quebec projects. The first networking event was held on November 15th-16th, in Lyon. On this occasion, fifteen French-Quebec collaborative project ideas were presented, focusing on the development of new technologies or processes to facilitate the discovery of new drugs.

12/12/2012 - bioXclusters presented during a workshop dedicated to international cluster for the development their SMEs

On December 12th, DG Enterprise and Industry of the European Commission in Brussels organized a day of discussions about its support to the strategic partnerships of European clusters to go abroad and thus foster the competitiveness of European SMEs. It is in this context that the bioXclusters project, pilot action on this topic has been presented. For DG Enterprise, clusters can act as real "springboards" for SMEs to help them access to global value chains and thus must develop long-term strategic partnerships.

12/13/2012 - Succes for the 4th Conference on Nosocomial Infections

This 4th edition was held at the "Institut Français de l’Education" in Lyon on December 13th. The theme "Nosocomial Pathogenesis" was that of the pathogenesis and host response in the nosocomial infection. This fourth edition was attended by 130 people including 2 industrial firms (bioMérieux and Sanofi), 12 SMBs, 8 academic laboratories, Hospital of Lyon and Saint-Etienne and the Universities of Lyon and Marseille.

12/2012 - 8th Call IMI soon open

The IMI program will soon open its 8th call for proposals. 2 topics will deal with Antibiotic Resistance "NewDrugs4BadBugs (ND4BB)” ; two other new topics will be on the theme "Developing an aetiology-based taxonomy for human diseases", one last topic will be "European bank induced pluripotent stem cell." Some webinars  (http://www.imi.europa.eu/content/events) relating to various subjects are expected by the end of December. The date of the submission of applications will be announced soon on the IMI site (planned at the end of February). Lyonbiopole offers you to benefit from its PPTE program and assist you in setting up your European projects. We remind you that the European Union is elaborating its future innovation and research Program called Horizon 2020, for 2014-2020 period. No FP7 calls will be launched in 2013, the H2020 calls should open at the end of 2013 beginning of 2014.

The 16th FUI call for projects will be launched in March, 2013. To be eligible to this call your project must be a collaborative R&D project accredited by a Competitiveness Cluster involving at least 2 companies and one laboratory or one research center. 12/2012 - Opportunities for collaboration with Brazil: discover the report of  bioXclusters’ mission  "Discovering the Brazilian life sciences market"

Following the mission carried out in September 2012 as part of the European project bioXclusters, funded by DG Enterprise (EC), Lyonbiopole and its partners publish a report on their mission. This report targets companies and research organizations interested in the Brazilian life Sciences market. During this mission, the partners met with research institutes, biotech companies and agencies innovation in the areas of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro and attended the Bio Partnering Latin America. Accinov is publishing a call for expressions of interest to set-up a Rhone-Alpes-based multidisciplinary network that would support interactions across the different industries and promote innovation in a strategic field and to foster innovation in biomanufacturing technologies.
