The foundation stone of Accinov was laid by 9 personnalites of French State, the Rhône-Alpes region, the Greater Lyon, Nexity, Accinov, Lyonbiopole and also the Serl Group, Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations and Merieux Institute. Accinov, innovative platform unique in Europe, offers a range of services with high added value, including biomanufacturing units and ready-to-use laboratory, to biotech companies that develop breakthrough technologies and innovative therapeutic products. AcCInov is positioned like an accelerator of business development by ensuring a fast start of their activities.

07/05/2012  - Register now to the 6th edition of Lyonbiopole Partnering Days

The 6th edition of Lyonbiopole Partnering Days will be held on Friday October 12th, 2012 at the World Trade Center of Grenoble. This event aims to foster exchanges between all the cluster's players: big industries, SMBs, academic and hospital. Nearly 300 participants are expected to attend to this new edition. More than 100 collaborative projects accredited by Lyonbiopole and funded since the cluster beginning will be presented during the day and 19 parallel roundtables will be organized on strategic and scientific topics. Furthermore, it will be the occasion for the participants to have a summary of the existing R&D funding tools and a presentation of the Lyonbiopole's cornerstone projects.

07/11/2012 - BIO Boston 2012: success for Lyonbiopole, the hub of Rhone-Alpes region’s bio entrepreneurs

At the occasion of the most important Life Sciences exhibiton, "BIO International Convention" in Boston on June from 19th to 21th June, 2012, the 6th edition of the "Fast-Track R&D Partnering with France" was held on Monday 18th June. Led by Lyonbiopole, this collective trade mission abroad of the 7 French health/biotech clusters, in partnership with UbiFrance and with the support of the DGCIS, aims to promote the skills and expertise of the French biotech SMBs and know the needs of large industrial of this sector. This year, more than 290 participants attended the meeting. Moreover, as part of collective action co-financed by the Rhone-Alpe region, Greater Lyon, Grenoble Alpes Métropole and Aderly, Lyonbiopole gathered in BIO 19 SMBs in Lyon and Grenoble  to develop their activities and set-up partnerships.

06/07/2012 - Lyonbiopole launches a new event to foster partnerships and the emergence of R&D projects

Lyonbiopole organized the first edition of the Bluesky Meeting on July 6th, 2012. This meeting, which encourages strategic collaboration and the emergence of R&D project, gathered more than 70 participants. During this day, fifteen presentations of innovative technology offer or need and R&D project ideas have been done by some companies and academics.

09/09/2012 to 09/14/2012: Lyonbiopole prepares a mission to Brazil in the framework of the bioXclusters project

As part of its European project bioXclusters, funded by DG Enterprise (EC), Lyonbiopole and its partners are currently organizing a mission to Brazil from September 9th to 14th, 2012, prepared in collaboration with Dr. Eduardo Soares, CEO of BioMinas cluster that visited Lyonbiopole on April 10th, 2012. The mission will include visits to research institutes, biotech companies of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro regions. The program will also include the participation in Bio Partnering Latin America to be held in Rio. Lyonbiopole provides an opportunity for its SMB members to participate in this mission through financial support as part of its PPTI.

10/15 to 10/19/2012 - Participate to the collective mission "Immunology, Inflammation and Neurosciences" West coast of the US

This trade mission will gather French biotech companies willing to build strategic and technological partnership with US companies. This operation, led by Alsace BioValley, is a result of a strong collaboration between the French BioClusters, the DGCIS (Ministry of Industry) and the UbiFrance 's teams from France and US. A program of 4 days in San Francisco and San Diego is set-up to focus on the B2B meetings and networking.

10/21 to 10/25/2012 - Discover the 2nd health market in the world by participating in the "Health in Shanghai" trade mission

Lyonbiopole, in partnership with Erai and supported by the Rhone-Alpes region, organizes a mission to China from October 21st to 25th, 2012. This trade mission includes: a program of meetings with potential partners, visits to the technology park of Taizhou and technology parks in Shanghai: Zhangjiang High Tech Park and Juke Biotech Park. 10/04/2012 - Lyon has been selected to host the 2012 International Prix Galien

After New York, the International Prix Galien Ceremony will be held in Lyon on October 4th, 2012. The International Prix Galien awards each year to recent therapeutic innovations available to the public and pharmaceutical research. It helps to promote and stimulate research on medicines and to encourage laboratories and the teams that advance. Upstream of the gala for the award in the salons of Lyon's city hall, the Aderly and these partners will organize a Forum, registration, with 3 conferences will be led by Sanofi, Merieux Foundation and Medidata. Nearly 300 people are expected.

07/10/2012 – FP7 health last calls are open

The last calls of FP7 Health are now open. They are divided into two main calls, a first dealing with 35 subjects and a 2nd dedicated especially to SMBs on two topics; on the latter 50% of the EU grant will be targeted to SMEs. The dates for submission of applications are respectively September 25th and October 2nd 2012. This program supports all types of research activities carried out by European organizations (SMBs, research ...). To remind, the FP7 Capacities program also opens its calls "Research for SMBs". It aims to strengthen the innovation' of SMBs by enabling them to outsource research, increase their research efforts. We remind you that Lyonbiopole supports you in building your European project, through its PPTE.

07/2012 – 7th IMI call soon open

The IMI program will open within the next days its 7th call for project named: “Building a sustainable framework for rapid assessment of vaccination impact in Europe”. The aim of this project is to deliver the following steps in developing a sustainable framework for facilitating post-approval, rapid and integrated assessment of the benefit/risk of vaccines. 2 webinars to prepare the projects are organized on July 12th and 17th, information and registration. 06/19/2012 – Lyonbiopole signs an agreement with Quebec for boosting R&D projects

On the occasion of the international life sciences fair, "BIO International Convention," Lyonbiopole signed a cooperation agreement to join the already existing consortium between Alsace BioValley and Quebec consortium for Drug Discovery (CQDM). This new agreement aims to develop a joint program to enhance biomedical research in Quebec, Alsace and Rhone-Alpes by the alignment of international resources. This collaborative program aims to co-finance research projects between the three regions Quebec, Alsace and Rhone-Alpes.

06/13 to 06/15/2012 - 1st EISBM Workshop on Knowledge Management for Translational Research

The 1st EISBM workshop took place from 13th to 15th June 2012 in Lyon. This workshop is a follow-up of the joint working sessions of U-BIOPRED/MeDALL European project which took place in Munich in January and Brussels in April 2012. This workshop was extended to AirPROM, Synergy-COPD and SysCLAD participants and to local SMBs active on the subject. The aim was to review analytical methods for data analysis and integration, including supervised and unsupervised methods, network modeling, and multi-scale integration.
The workshop concluded by a working session on data analysis plan, strictly reserved to U-BIOPRED, MeDALL, AirPROM and Synergy-COPD participants.

06/05/2012 - EERYTECH Pharma receives € 7 million from OSEO to lead the TEDAC personalized medicine project in cancer

ERYTECH Pharma, a late-stage French biopharmaceutical company developing medicinal products for oncology, is pleased to announce that it received a total of € 6.95 million in support from the Strategic Industrial Innovation program of the French public organization OSEO to lead the TEDAC project accredited by Lyonbiopole (Therapeutic Enzymes to Deplete Amino acids to treat Cancers resistant to radio/chemotherapy). It aims at developing innovative therapies for the enzymatic treatment of chemo- or radio-resistant cancers, and accompanying tools to identify responders and enable personalized care of patients.

06/04/2012 - Alizé Pharma closes a funding round of 3,3 Million euros

Alizé Pharma, a group of companies developing drugs for the treatment of metabolic diseases and cancer, announces today that it has completed a funding round of 3.3 million euros. The funds will allow to take AZP-531, its UAG (UnAcylated Ghrelin) analog, into Phase I clinical trials.

06/18/2012 - Calixar closes an initial funding round

Calixar SAS, a start-up providing services focused on membrane proteins, announces today that it has completed an initial funding round in which it raised 875,000 euros from private investors and business angels.  The investors that took part in this financing were Siparex, Veymont Participations, INPG Entreprise SA, and regional business angels from the Health-Angels Rhône-Alpes, Savoie Angels and Grenoble Angels networks.

05/29/2012 - French research teams and ImmunID Technologies progress on breast cancer

French teams — at Léon Bérard, the Cancer Research Centre in Lyon and ImmunID Technologies member of Lyonbiopole — have shown that a new biomarker can be used to predict survival in cases of breast cancer recurrence. By using a new biomarker, lympho-divpenia, which evaluates both the quantity and the diversity of the lymphocytes engaged in immune defences, ImmunID, a start-up company based in Grenoble responsible for the initial identification of this biomarker, Centre Léon Bérard and the Cancer Research Centre at Lyon have made a major breakthrough, published in the journal Oncoimmunology.

bioXclusters project, involving 4 European clusters - BioCat, BioM, bioPmed and Lyonbiopole - coordinated by Erai, develops its communication tools. Funded by DG Enterprise (European Commission), Lyonbiopole’s new European project adopts a new logo depicting cooperation between the 4 Health clusters on the international stage. bioXclusters is now on social networks like Twitter and has its own news blog bioxclusters.eu.
