06/18/2012 to 06/21/2012 – Lyonbiopole supports 18 company members to BIO International Convention at Boston

With the support of Rhône-Alpes region, Greater Lyon, Metro and Aderly and coordinated by the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Lyon, 18 Lyonbiopole's company members will participate at BIO International Convention which will be held from June 18th to 21st, 2012 in Boston (MA). For the sixth consecutive year, Lyonbiopole gives you an appointment for the "Fast-Track Partnering with France" upstream BIO International Convention on Monday, June 18th, 2012 at the W Hotel in Boston from 11:30 am for meetings with pharma and biotech companies.

IMAXIO

IMAXIO, a biotech company located in Lyon and focused on vaccines and genomics, was formed in 2006 by the merger of Diagnogene and Avidis (a spin-off developed in 2000 by the Medical Research Council and the University of Cambridge in the UK). IMAXIO is based on 3 R&D and commercial activities: a technology platform for the development of immunostimulant vaccines (IMX313), a vaccine against human leptospirosis marketed in France (Spirolept®), and a R&D and services platform in genomics for the development of companion diagnostic tests in immunology and oncology. On April, 17th, 2012, IMAXIO announced the € 2,9 M of fundraising.

04/26/2012 - Lyonbiopole and acCInov organized the 2nd "Cell Therapy" workshop

On April 26th, 2012, a day dedicated to "cell therapy" was organized. The meeting gathered more than 50 participants from industries and regional laboratories involved in the field of regenerative medicine. This day was structured around two times: plenary sessions in the morning on major issues in this field and 4 parallel workshops in the afternoon to debate on regulatory aspects , technological tools, clinical indications and collaborative projects on cell therapy.

04/12/2012 - 2nd Lyonbiopole's workshop on fungal infections

Lyonbiopole organized a workshop dedicated to fungal infections on April 12th, 2012. This meeting gathered 3 Rhône-Alpes Hospital University Centers, academic laboratories and companies specialized in this field. Debates led to the emergence of a federating project to develop diagnosis and therapeutic approaches to fight these infections in immunodeficient patients.

05/25/2012 - Trade Mission on Personalized Medicine at the occasion of the Biomarker World Congress

At the occasion of the annual Biomarker World Congress, a trade mission dedicated to Personalized Medicine is organised from May 21st to 25rd 2012 in Philadephia. The mission's program is the participation in the Biomarker World Congress, a French Biotech Tour (event partnering Franco-American) and visits to companies and research centers. This operation, led by Atlanpole, is a result of a strong collaboration between the French BioClusters, the DGCIS (Ministry of Industry) and the UbiFrance 's teams from France and US.

04/13/2012 - Launching of the Innovation COOPOL program: Phase 1 (exploratory missions) and Phase 2 (bilateral projects)

The Innovation COOPOL program was developed by the department for science and technology (SST) of the French Embassy in China to clusters and French technological parks. It is for a pair consisting of an innovative member of these clusters and its academic research. This program is divided into two phases: I) exploratory missions of evaluation and identification of potential partners for cooperation on R&D projects (phase 1), ii) aids to support the launch of bilateral projects in the field of research, development and innovation (phase 2). Both calls will be closed June 30th, 2012.

03/23/2012 - Reminder: 2nd Structuring Research and Development Projects of competitiveness cluster (PSPC) call for projects is open

Under the program "Investments for the future", the second call for projects "for structuring R&D projects for clusters" (AAP PSPC) is continuously open until 15 January 2013 on the site www.competitivite.gouv.fr. A first selection will be made late in May 2013 based on filings in late April. To be eligible to the call, your project must be a R&D collaborative project, accredited by a French cluster, involving at least 2 companies and one lab (€5M expenses minimum). Lyonbiopole helps you to study your accreditation request.

04/10/2012 - 04/11/2012 - About ten Lyonbiopole's members met an expert of Brazil's life science sector for a "Discover the Brazilian Market" workshop

As part of bioXclusters, the European project which Lyonbiopole is partner and the "Mobility Clusters: host of international experts in Rhone-Alpes" program which is funded by Rhône-Alpes region and managed by ERAI, the cluster received Mr. Eduardo Soares CEO of Biominas Brazil. This visit was marked by a "Discover Brazilian Market" workshop dedicated to Lyonbiopole's members as well as 11 individual meetings with the speaker. On the next day, M. Eduardo Soares visited the Grenoble's large infrastructures: IBS, EMBL and ESRF.

04/01/2012 - ACCINOV is launching BIOMATOOLS: an ambitious program to structure the French biomanufacturing industry

ACCINOV, the innovation platform of Lyonbiopôle, wants to set the pace of innovation in biomanufacturing. To this purpose, ACCINOV is improving its original service offer with an ambitious program aiming at connecting suppliers and biomanufacturers. Indeed, reaching a critical mass with complementary companies is a keystone to foster innovation. Therefore, the program BioMaTools focuses on building a network of companies that could promote the development of new processes or new tools. BIOMATOOLS has been officially launched on April 1st,  2012.

04/19/2012 - Transgene’s New Therapeutic Vaccine Candidate (TG1050) to Treat Chronic Hepatitis B (“CHB”) Reaches Pre-Clinical Proof of Concept

Transgene announced that it has achieved pre-clinical proof of concept with a new therapeutic vaccine candidate, TG1050, aiming at treating chronic infection by the hepatitis B virus (“HBV”). Positive pre-clinical data supports further development of the product.
