2011/01/18 - Lyonbiopole presents a remarkable 2010 report activities

In the framework of the application for the creation of a TRI (Technological Research Institute) in infectious diseases along with Institut Pasteur, Lyonbiopole organised a press meeting on Tuesday 18 January 2011. At this occasion, Gerard Collomb, Mayor of Lyon, President of the Greater Lyon, Philippe Archinard, Lyonbiopole's president, with the participation of Alain Merieux, President of the Institut Merieux and Michel Lussault, President of the Lyon University, presented Lyonbiopole's ambitions by 2013.

Synthelis has chosen the Biotechnica and PEGS Conference, as the occasion to announce its forthcoming spin-off from its technology transfer incubator, Floralis. Synthelis specializes in the production of customized membrane proteins. 2011/04/02 - SMB: participate in the "Oncology Tour"

This mission will be held from 2 to 8 April 2011, on the US East Coast. It is addressed to every French biotech company specialised in oncology (drug discovery, development, diagnostics, CRO/CMO, technology transfer) that wants to build industrial/technologic partnerships in the US. The mission proposes a participation in the AACR congress and in two days of business meetings in Philadelphia and Baltimore. This operation is the fruit of a collaboration between all the French Biotech Clusters. The action is coordinated by Cancer-Bio-Santé, DGCIS and the US and French UbiFrance teams.

2011/06/27 - Lyonbiopole will be present at BIO Washington and organises the 5th edition of the Fast Track R&D Partnering with France (FTRD)
 

BIO 2011 International Convention, the World Life Sciences Congress will be held from 27 to 30 June 2011 in Washington DC. On Monday 27 June 2011, with the Congress opening, Lyonbiopole will organise the 5th edition of the Fast Track R&D Partnering with France (FTRD) in collaboration with UbiFrance and the French Biotech Clusters, with the support of DGCIS (French Government). This exchanging moment allows each year to build contact with international companies and presents offers of international partnerships.
During the Congress, Lyonbiopole welcomes you on a booth, inside the French Pavillon, that gathers regional life sciences actors and co-exhibitor Rhone-Alpes companies. The common booth is co-funded by the Rhone-Alpes region, Greater Lyon, Greater Grenoble and Aderly in collaboration with Lyonbiopole, Lyon Chamber of Commerce and UbiFrance.

2011/01/28 - Europe Workshop - 2nd Lead-ERA Call for projects
 

Lyonbiopole organizes a “Europe Workshop” on the second Lead-ERA call on January 28th, 2011 from 12:00 to 18:00 in its headquarters. The Workshop will be divided in 3 parts: a presentation of the calls led by Nathalie Trannoy, Project manager at the OSEO International development Department; a session to exchange with the speakers during the lunch break; in the afternoon, individual private meetings with the speaker to discuss about a potential project.

2011/02/25 - 12th Call for projects Single Ministry Fund (FUI) : Lyonbiopole helps you to build your project

The 12th call for projects of the Single Ministry Fund (FUI) should be published at the beginning of March 2011. To be eligible to this call, your project must be a R&D collaborative project, accredited by Lyonbiopole involving at least 2 companies and 1 laboratory or research centre. At Lyonbiopole, a team dedicated to project set up meets the potential lead partners, informs them about the accreditation process la procédure de labellisation and supports them to elaborate their project.

Building on the success of the International Technological Partnership Program (PPTI),  Lyonbiopole follows up on the program that was initiated in 2008 and strengthens its international development plan. Thus, in 2011, Lyonbiopole offers to its members technical and financial support in Europe and outside Europe, participation in collective thematic missions (oncology, infectious diseases and neurosciences) as well as international events.

2011/03/18 - Next investors meeting: Sofimac partners

The one-day investor meeting is divided in two parts: face-to-face meetings between member companies and private investors and a workshop followed by a networking lunch in order to facilitate exchanges between investors and SMBs. After Ventech and CIC Vizille Capital Innovation, the next investors meeting will be dedicated to Sofimac Partners on March 18th, 2011.

2011/01/28 - 2011 Training Programme on Industrial Property

The training sessions on Industrial Property are organized by 4 French Clusters (Axelera, Lyonbiopole, Minalogic, Tenerrdis) with the support of the French State. The objective is to inform project leaders/partners about legal, contract and organization issues linked to the participation in a collaborative project. The sessions are animated by Maître Franck Robert, lawyer specialised in the field of contracts and new technologies. In 2011, nine sessions are planned in Lyon and Grenoble.

2010/12/06 - Lifescience Corridor France signs an agreement with MATIMOP, Israeli Industrial Centre for R&D

Lifescience Corridor France (LCF) gathering the three French Health Clusters (Lyonbiopole, Cancer-Bio-Santé, Alsace Biovalley) signed in December 2010 a cooperation agreement for the promotion of R&D projects and industrial innovation projects with MATIMOP (Israeli Industrial Centre for R&D - institution that links Israeli companies to their international homologues). The main aim of this agreement is to build R&D projects between LCF and Israeli companies in the fields of Life Sciences and Healthcare.

2011/01/12 - Lyonbiopole welcomed representatives of the "Research Triangle" from North Carolina, United States

A delegation from the Research Triangle Regional Partnership (RTRP) of North Carolina, composed by Debbie Lilly, Ronnie Goswick and Peter Pellerito (RTRP Chairman and member of the BIO organisation), was welcomed by in Lyonbiopole on Wednesday 12 January 2011. This meeting was the opportunity for Lyonbiopole and for eight of its members to exchange on potential collaboration with North Carolina, get information about the US market and met partners for a potential development.

2010/12/21 - PX’Therapeutics opens a new GMP cell culture production facility

This new facility will allow cell banking as well as small scale production and release of protein batches intended for preclinical/clinical use and niche market (orphan disease, cell therapy). The extension of the company’s production capabilities is part of its development strategy and will definitely mark its ambition to support therapeutic antibody development.

2011/01/06 - ETHERA, new Lyonbiopole Member, obtains a first fund raising of €1.2 Million
 

ETHERA, start-up company that develops innovative solutions for diagnosis and treatment of indoor pollution raised €1.2 Million coming from EMERTEC and CEA Investissement. This will allow the company to continue the industrialisation of its technology and the development on its first markets. Ethera will commercialize its first diagnostic kits from mid-May 2011.

2011/01/10 - Daniel Moinard becomes Director of Lyon Civil Hospitals

Officially appointed Director General of Lyon Civil Hospitals in early January, Daniel Moinard took office on Monday, January 10th. Aged 63, Daniel Moinard was the General Director of Toulouse University Hospital before being appointed by the Ministry of Health for several emergency missions at Caen, Nantes and Montpellier University hospitals. In Montpellier, he had been since April 2010 the temporary Director after the suspension of the former one. Daniel Moinard had already been candidate for being Director of Lyon Civil Hospitals in 2003 and 2006.

2011/01/12 -The US national cancer institute starts a phase II clinical trial with Innate Pharma's IPH 2101 

The National Cancer Institute has enrolled a first patient in a new Phase II clinical trial testing Innate Pharma’s anti-KIR monoclonal antibody IPH 2101, in patients with smoldering myeloma, an early stage of the blood malignancy multiple myeloma. This trial is developed, sponsored and funded by the NCI and performed in the United States under a clinical trial agreement with Innate Pharma.

2011/01/20 - genOway participates in Micro-Path programme

genOway announces its participation in the Micro-Path programme. The research consortium is supported by the OSEO programme: Industrial Strategic Innovation (ISI). As main partner in the Micro-Path consortium, Genoway wants to develop the first reliable animal models for atherosclerosis, the most important cardiovascular disease in the world.
