2010/10/18 – Creation of the acCInov association and nomination of its president

The acCInov association was created on October 18th, 2010 during its first Board of Directors which appointed its President, Tristan Rousselle CEO of PX'Therapeutics. The association is run by 13 members: 4 Lyonbiopole's representatives, 5 associate's members and 3 public authorities representatives.

2010/12/03 – SMBs, entrepreneurs and investors at Lyonbiopole annual event on private funding

On December 3rd, 2010, at Sanofi Pasteur headquarters in Lyon, Lyonbiopole organized the second edition of the « SMB and private funding: how to strengthen your equity?” event in collaboration with CREALYS and OSEO ; it gathered more than 145 attendees, including 70 companies, 31 investors and 11 start-up projects. This event dedicated to entrepreneurs and managers of young innovative companies in biotechnology and health, aims at facilitating and fostering contact with business angels, venture capitalists and private investors. The 3rd edition will be held on December 2nd, 2011.

JLMLAB

JLMLab was founded to meet the need for portable P2 and P3 biological containment labs. R&D and isolated epidemiology research teams (working on emerging or re-emerging strains, for instance) need timely access to these secure facilities.The portable lab is not a new idea. However, JLMLab has developed an innovative concept that delivers new levels of performance thanks to a unique ergonomic design and advanced materials. The JLMLab portable P3 lab offers an airlock, a lab, and a facilities room with the same features as a permanent structure.

2011/02/03 – Next investor meeting: Sofimac partners

The one-day investor meeting is divided in two parts: face-to-face meetings between member companies and private investors and a workshop followed by a networking lunch in order to facilitate exchanges between investors and SMBs. After Ventech and CIC Vizille Capital Innovation, the next investor meeting will be dedicated to Sofimac Partners on February 3rd 2011.

2011/03/27 - New path « Business in science » for the 7th edition of BioVision, global forum on life sciences

The 7th edition of BioVision will be held on March 27th to 29th, 2011 in Lyon. It will propose a new path “Business in Science” around the topic: “the end of the traditional model of the life science industry: and then?” 28 international experts will discuss about the future of the life science industry during this event. It will be organized in 4 round-tables on Monday March 28th. This path is supported by McKinsey & Company consultancy in collaboration with Lyonbiopole and France Biotech.

2010/10/09 – 2nd edition of the conference day on the topic “Nosocomial infection”

For the second year, the Finovi foundation has organised in collaboration with Lyonbiopole a day of conferences dedicated to the topic “Noscomial Infections”. This day gathered around 100 attendees, scientists coming from the industrial and research academic world and also clinicians and epidemiologists.

2011/01/07 – « Europe Workshop » dedicated to the two Lead-ERA calls for projects

Lyonbiopole organizes a “Europe Workshop” on two Lead-ERA calls on January 7th, 2011 from 12:00 to 17:00 in its headquarters. The Workshop will be divided in 3 parts: a presentation of the calls led by Nathalie Trannoy, Project manager at the OSEO International development Department; a session to exchange with the speakers during the lunch break; in the afternoon, individual private meetings with the speaker to discuss about a potential project.

In the framework of « Future investments » programme, the “R&D structuring projects of competitiveness clusters” call is permanently open until January 2012 on www.competitivite.gouv.fr. To be eligible for this call, your project must be a collaborative R&D project, accredited by a French competitiveness cluster, involving at least 2 companies and one laboratory or research centre. Lyonbiopole is at your entire disposal to support you to set-up your project and to study your applications for project accreditation (download the accreditation process and the letters of interest).

2011/01/11 - The CLARA launches the 7th Proof of Concept call on January 11th, 2011


The programme, launched in 2005, aims at supporting “Proof of concept” projects in order to develop partnerships between actors from the academic, clinical and industrial sectors of the Rhône-Alpes Auvergne region. These partnerships will be developed in the framework of innovative projects with strong potential that would end on a Proof of Concept in cancers and on a clinical and industrial transfer. 2011/01/311 – 3rd Call for proposals – technological cooperation programme between France and Canada

In the framework of the agreement to develop technological cooperation between French and Canadian companies, OSEO for the French part and the PARI-CNRC for Canada launch a call for proposals. 2010/12/16 - Lyonbiopole welcomed three representatives from Johns Hopkins Technology Transfer Office, Maryland (US)

Last Thursday, Lyonbiopole was delighted to receive three representatives of Johns Hopkins Technology Transfer Office (Baltimore, Maryland US). The day was divided in several parts. In the morning, a presentation of Lyonbiopole and the visit of the Infectious Diseases Centre have been organized. The delegation then participated in the “Therapeutic Antibody” workshop gathering several SMBs members of the cluster. Lyonbiopole offered to its members the opportunity to assist to a presentation of the American Technology Transfer Office and exchange with its representatives in the framework of the Lunch Break. The day ended with a visit of Sanofi Pasteur and bioMerieux in Marcy-l’Etoile.

2010/12/10 - SIgN deals with cosmo to explore immunology modeling

The Singapore Immunology Network (SIgN) has signed a Research Collaboration Agreement (RCA) with CoSMo (Complex Systems Modeling) to investigate how the human immune system can be better modeled with computers using a complex systems approach. CoSMo, that has recently joined Lyonbiopole, is specialized in the development of software and/or services in the field of modeling and numerical simulation of multi-scale biological systems.

2010/11/23 – For the second year, ImaXio wins the Deloitte Technology Fast 50

ImaXio, company member of Lyonbiopole, is involved in the therapeutic fields of oncology and infectious diseases. It aims at creating recombinant vaccines, diagnostic and genetic prognostic tools for cancers. ImaXio, that wins the Deloitte Technology Fast 50, is on the 2nd position in the Rhône-Alpes / Auvergne region and on the 44th position at the national level on the prize lists that award the technological companies with high-growth. The ranking is done according to the growth rate of the last 5 year turnover (from 2005 to 2009). ImaXio has had a growth rate of 838% during this period.

2010/11/16 - genOway won the NYSE Euronext prize on the regional Deloitte Technology Fast 50 prize list for the Rhône-Alpes-Auvergne area

The NYSE prize rewards listed technological companies whose growth rate in sales over five years has been the most dynamic.

2010/10/11 - SynapCell announces a second fundraising of 520.000 €

The biotech start-up company located in Grenoble is specialized in the preclinical expertise of medicines dedicated to brain diseases. It announces a second fundraising and its approval for the funding of the collaborative project RHENEPI, project selected within the 9th Single Interministry Fund call for projects and accredited by Lyonbiopole and Alsace Biovalley. This project aims to provide a neural modeling platform for the discovery and validation of pharmacological treatments of epilepsy. Total funding obtained: 520.000 €.
