Main European funding for your collaborative and innovative projects

HORIZON 2020

 

What for ?

Support the European projects all along the innovation scale. The programme finances collaborative projects and includes also instruments for innovation in the SMEs.

 

For whom ?

Every legal entity - consortiums for collaborative projects (Health challenge for example) have to involve 3 partners from 3 different European countries and EU (except for the SME Instrument in which an SME can apply alone).

 

Financing conditions

Grant– 100 % for research and innovation actions /70 %  for the close-to-market actions.

IMI 2

 

What for ?

The IMI initiative is a public-private partnership beteween pharmaceutical industries and EFPIA members (European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations) and the European Community. Its objective is to financially support the paneuropean colloborations in the innovative medicines sector to reinforce their safety and efficiency.

 

Financing conditions

The Commission commited to give 1.5 billion euros to IMI. The EFPIA members have to give equivalent amount in cash or in natural advantage. The EC money finances only the academic institutions or the SME; The EFPIA industrials do not get any EU money,  but provide a supplement to the projects they are participating in.

EUROSTARS 2

 

What for ?

The Eurostars programme is especially directed at the  SMEs. The projects have to be market-oriented; their maximum duration is 3 years and the research product has to be ready for the market within the 2 years following the end of the project. One exception is for biotechnologies, biomedical or medical projects, for which clinical trials have to begin within the 2 years following the end of the project. Two calls for proposals a year are launched (march/september each year).

 

For whom ?

The minimum number of partners is 2, from 2 different member states of the initiative, the coordinator has to be an innovative SME.

 

Financing conditions

Grant (30 à 40 % for SMEs)
