“Nutrition, Inflammation and Immunity” workshop

The "Nutrition, Inflammation and Immunity" workshop was held during the Clinical Innovation Day, the 19th of June 2018.

 

The "Nutrition, Inflammation and Immunity" workshop was held during the Clinical Innovation Day, the 19th of June 2018.

Researchers, clinicians and companies met to investigate the mechanisms governing the links between nutrition, inflammation and immunity and to identify different lines of innovation.

 

The workshop gathered 25 participants, who benefited from the expertise of five complementary speakers: Gilles Boschetti (HCL), Gaëlle Vial and Frédéric Capel (Clermont-Ferrand University Hospital), Marie-Caroline Michalski ( CarMeN Laboratory - Lyon) and Frédéric Barbalat (Recoverlab - Clermont-Ferrand).

Through various short and illustrative presentations, subjects as varied as celiac disease, alteration of lipid metabolism during inflammatory rheumatism, the potential role of fat formulated in the modulation of inflammation by food and modulation bioavailability of active ingredients were  explored.

 

In a second step, Béatrice Morio (Laboratoire CarMeN - Lyon, French Society of Nutrition), coordinated the discussion and reflexion on the place of the innovation in nutrition-inflammation-immunity relationships.
