CHU Clermont-Ferrand


Reference in the west of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the University hospital of Clermont-Ferrand (CHU Clermont-Ferrand) achieves several missions of care, teaching and clinical research on its three hospital sites (Hôpital Gabriel Montpied, Hôpital Estaing and Hôpital nord). Located at the last level in the gradation of care, the expertise of the CHU Clermont-Ferrand is recognized in the management of recourse activities in medicine, surgery and obstetrics. The CHU has a wide range of clinical services, divided into 15 poles of activities, enabling to cover all the needs of the population, and an efficient medical and technical platform dedicated to diagnosis and interventional medicine. It also carries out an activity of proximity cares, notably through the management of medical emergencies. The quality of provided cares by the CHU of Clermont-Ferrand is certified by an independent public authority and constantly monitored by quality indicators.


The dynamism of the clinical research carried out at the CHU Clermont-Ferrand (7th national rank for the number of clinical trials) contributes to the diffusion of innovations and the continuous improvement of the care quality.


With its 10 schools and institutes, the CHU Clermont-Ferrand provides training for paramedical professionals. In continuity with the university teaching delivered by the faculties of Medecine, Pharmacy and Dentistry, the teaching staff of the CHU Clermont-Ferrand provides a practical training for future practitioners.


Beyond the population of Clermont-Ferrand, the CHU Clermont-Ferrand provides medical, technical and logistical support to the 15 public health establishments that make up the GHT Allier-Puy-de-Dôme (hospital grouping of territory), of which it is the support institution.
